Last year’s Daddy-Daughter dance.

Once again, The Little Theatre On The Square will hold a Daddy Daughter Dance fundraiser in February. This fifth annual event is expected to be bigger and better than ever. Last year, over 200 people attended the Dance, which was held at the Sullivan Elementary School.

“We’ve held a raffle for an American Girl doll the past two years that has been very popular and thanks to a generous donor, we will have another American Girl doll this year,” said Theatre Board member and Dance organizer Amanda Standerfer. “We love having the Dance at SES because we can create spaces for the different activities and make the entire night very special.”

This year’s theme is “Sweetheart Dance.” The Dance will once again feature cupcakes from the Sullivan Bakery, a make-it take-it craft, and photo opportunities. Plus, lots of dancing! Besides the American Girl doll, the raffle will also feature other goodies just for girls and even a few for the dads. “Every year is so much fun and the event continues to grow,” said John Stephens, The Little Theatre’s Executive Producer.

To obtain tickets for the February 22nd Dance, go online to and click on “Buy Tickets.” If you buy tickets online, you’ll receive an email to print the tickets at home.

Or you can call The Little Theatre Box Office at 217-728-7375 and order tickets over the phone. Tickets can be picked up at the Box Office or you can have them mailed to your home.

Tickets are $25 in advance per couple. For dad’s wanting to bring more than one girl, it’s just $10 for each additional child. After February 16th and at the door, tickets are $30 per couple.

“It’s such a fun evening for the girls,” said Standerfer. “We encourage all dads and father-figures to bring the special girl in their life!” The Dance is open to girls of all ages, but Standerfer noted that most are between the ages of 18 months and 7th grade.

The Dance is Saturday, February 22nd from 6-8pm at Sullivan Elementary School. Anyone with questions about the Dance can contact Standerfer at or post a message on the Facebook event.
