BLOOMINGTON - The Girl Scouts of Central Illinois are hosting their first Great S’More Mud Run this summer at Camp Tapawingo in Metamora. This three-mile course leads participants through a variety of obstacles which are filled with or covered in mud. The event and the course are designed for all fitness levels, athletic abilities, and ages to participate. Registration is now open and all proceeds will benefit local Girl Scout troops.

“Our girls are always ready for a challenge,” GSCI CEO Pam Kovacevich said. “Mud run obstacles will test your strength, endurance and grit while supporting our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”

The Great S’more Mud Run will be held at Camp Tapawingo in Metamora, so expect natural outdoor features to become elements of this course. Wooded trails and lots of mud make this race unique – and not so natural obstacles may be included along the way. The course is designed for runners and walkers ages 14 and older – approximately three miles with 14 obstacles.

The Jr. S’more race is for ages 8-13 – adapting the main course for this age group at two miles with nine obstacles. And not to leave out the youngest kids, we have built a super fun run for ages seven and under who love to get muddy. The Li’l S’more course is seven fun obstacles for little ones. This course is separate from the main course. Kids wanting to participate in this must have an adult with them on the course. Adults do not need to register with their child, but are welcome to register and receive a 2019 The Great S’more Mud Run T-shirt.

Online registration is open until August 8, 2019; however, walk-ins on race day are welcome! We encourage everyone to register by July 15, 2019 for a guaranteed T-shirt on race day!

Registration Fees:

Ages 14 and older – $50 (The Great S’more Mud Run Adult S’more)

Ages 8-13 – $30 (The Great S’more Mud Run Jr. S’more)

Ages 7 and under – $25 (The Great S’more Mud Run Li’l S’more)
