David and Shirley Hall will celebrate their 50th anniversary on July 10.

The couple were married July 10, 1959, at the Free Methodist Church in Taylorville by the Rev. Cecil Covey.

David is retired from Martin's IGA in Effingham. Shirley is retired from the Cowden-Herrick School District as a teacher and substitute teacher for many years. David is a Deacon and Shirley is a Sunday School Teacher at the First Christian Church in Cowden. Shirley is a 49-year 4-H leader, a member of Ann Crooker St Clair Daughters of the American Revolution, Home and Community Education, and various other organizations.

They have three children: Julia (Gary) Stewart of Duarte, CA, Phillip (special friend, Lori) of Altamont and Crystal (Jim) Ping of Effingham. They are very proud of their grandchildren-Andria Richards, Leslie Glenn, J. D. Ping, Krista Hall and step-grandson Jeromie Stewart. They have 1 great-grandson, Drake Richards.

A family dinner is planned at a later date. A vacation is scheduled later this year.
