Open house at log house in Taylorville

Admission includes Quilt Show and fully furnished historic building tours including the historic Log House from the John Curry property in Shelby County. The Log House was built between 1830-1840 and was located 4 miles east and 1 mile south of Shelbyville.

The historic Log House from the John Curry family will be open for tours during the Christian County Historical Society & Museum's Quilt Show on Saturday, July 20 from 10 am-2pm at 325 Abe’s Way in Taylorville.

The Log House was built between 1830-1840 and is unique to this part of the country. The Log House was located 4 miles east and 1 mile south of Shelbyville. Admission is by donation of $5 Adults, $3 kids 4-8yrs, 3 & under free. Admission includes Quilt Show and fully furnished historic building tours including the historic Log House from the John Curry property in Shelby County.

The Log House was built between 1830-1840. FREE parking and FREE golf cart rides if needed to and from the parking lot throughout the day. A lunch of chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad, dessert and drinks will be sold on the grounds for $5 between 11 am-1 pm. Enjoy the quilts, stay for the nostalgia of the fully furnished historical buildings and the gardens.

Bring a friend! Many quilts from around the Christian County area will be on display. The quilts are beginning to arrive and you won’t want to miss this show, many of these quilts have not been seen by the public before.
