Shelby County has been federally recoginized by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) as having "Functional Zero" status for homeless veterans.

This means that when there is a Veteran who is homeless, their period of homelessness is short, this situation is rare and that they don't experience it again.

Supportive Services for Veteran Familes, C.E.F.S., and the South Central Continuum of Care worked together to acheive these benchmarks set by the USICH.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families serves the Christian, Coles, Douglas, Edgar, Macon, Moultrie, and Shelby counties.
