Consumers who have questions about the sometimes complicated world of insurance can get assistance through a toll-free consumer hotline, according to Senator Frank Watson.

“The Illinois Insurance Hotline is an excellent resource,” said Watson (R-Greenville). “Consumers can request and obtain free educational materials on a variety of insurance topics to help them make informed decisions about the type of insurance that’s best for their personal situation.”

The Hotline does not endorse specific agents or companies and no products are sold. The Hotline is staffed Monday through Friday, from9:00am to 4:00pm and consumers can call toll-free by dialing 1-800-444-3338.

The Illinois Insurance Hotline has been in operation since the fall of 1990 and has assisted thousands ofIllinois residents. Last year, hotline consultants fielded nearly 5,000 calls. The Hotline is a nonprofit organization funded by the insurance industry and operated by the Illinois Insurance Association.
