The Shelby County Relay for Life wants to clarify that the annual event revolves around a Survivor Dinner that will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the Lions Club Building in Shelbyville's Forest Park.

The free Survivor's Dinner menu includes pork, baked potato, cole slaw, salad, rolls, drink and dessert. The dinner has been donated to celebrate the survivors. Previously known survivors and their caregivers have been sent invitations to the dinner. Other survivors are encouraged to make reservations.

The Survivor dinner is free, but reservations are encouraged. Contact Debbie Hammond, 774-1345, by July 12 if you would like to be included in the survivor invitation list.

After the Survivor Dinner there will be a Celebration of Hope Program about 7 p.m. and the public is invited.

A luminaria ceremony to remember cancer victims will also be held. Luminarias may be purchased at the event, or by using the form in the Daily Union, or online at www.relayforlife.org/shelbyil.
