Cowden police reports for July, 2019:

On 07-01-19, as the result of a traffic stop for failure to signal, Adam Schlonser, 32, of Cowden was issued a village ordinance citation for Possession of Cannabis.

On 07-05-19, as the result of a traffic stop, Dalton Maness, 19, of Shelbyville was issued a village ordinance citation for Possession of Cannabis.

On 07-05-19, as the result of a traffic stop, Aaron Kaiser, 36, of Beecher City was issued a village ordinance citation for Driving While License Revoked.

On 07-10-19, Cowden Police attempted a traffic stop on a white Mitsubishi SUV for speeding. The vehicle came to a stop, but as the officer approached the vehicle, the vehicle sped away. The officer pursued the vehicle into Effingham County and back into Shelby County, where it crashed at the intersection of County Roads 2600E. and 100N. The driver fled on foot from the crash site, but was apprehended the next morning with the assistance of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. The suspected driver, identified as Rahman Henson, 37, of Dieterich was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Driving While License Revoked, and Resisting a Police Officer.

On 07-20-19, as the result of a traffics stop, Alexander Embry, 26, of Effingham was issued a village ordinance citation for Driving While License Suspended.

On 07-20-19, as the result of a traffic stop for multiple equipment violations, Austin Langston, 20, of Shelbyville was issued a village ordinance citation for Driving While License Suspended.
