The financial fallout from the coronavirus pandemic has forced us to reorganize the Shelbyville Daily Union’s distribution of local news, features and sports.
Today’s print edition will be the last produced and sent to subscribers’ homes and apartments as well as made available at newsstands on Tuesday and Friday.
Effective next week, we will distribute Shelbyville news and sports on The Daily Union’s website, www.shelbyvilledailyunion.com.
Those subscribers who have not yet activated their Daily Union digital website access, can do so by calling 217-347-7151 and we will help set you up.
The conversion from print to digital only for the Daily Union is necessary due to major loss of advertising revenue during the COVID-19 emergency on top of burdensome print delivery costs, newsprint and ink expenses, and the production outlay required to run the presses.
We urge our Daily Union subscribers and advertisers to continue to support Shelbyville news and sports reports online at www.shelbyvilledailyunion.com.
If you have questions about the changes, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you, and stay safe and stay strong.
