Shelby County 4-H is excited to offer 4-H dog obedience classes. Weekly classes will start on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Shelby County 4-H & Jr. Fairgrounds Show Arena at 6 p.m. and will be held each Tuesday, September through October, weather permitting.

Dog obedience is open to youth ages 8-18 as of 9/1/20. There is a $10 program fee for new 4-H members that must be paid on September 8. Please arrive between 5:30-6 on September 8 to complete all necessary paperwork.

Dogs should be at least 6 months old. At the September 8 meeting, you must bring proof of your dog’s rabies and distemper-parvo vaccinations. 4-H’ers need to bring their training collar and lead. For new members, there is a $9 fee for the training color and lead, which must also be purchased at the first meeting. Face coverings are required and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
