An aide to U.S. Rep. John Shimkus (R, Illinois-15) will be available in Shelby County and Fayette County next week to assist area constituents with any problems they may be having with federal government agencies.

On Monday, Aug. 5, the staff member will be at the Moweaqua Village Hall (122 North Main Street) from 9:30-11 a.m. and at the St. Elmo City Hall (411 North Main Street) from 2:30-4 p.m. Constituents who need assistance with a federal issue but are not available at either time period can call the congressman's Effingham office at (217) 347-7947.

On the website, constituents can send the congressman a message or sign up for weekly email updates and periodic veterans and grants electronic newsletters. Congressman Shimkus also maintains Facebook and YouTube accounts, where regular updates are posted.
