St. Paul Lutheran Church of Strasburg, Illinois is having their Spring Mission Festival on Sunday, March 2. Rev. Hector Hoppe from Orphan Grain Train will be the guest speaker.

He will have a Bible study group at 9:00 a.m. and the regular church service at 10:00 a.m.. A meal catered by the Windsor Grocery Store will follow the service. All are welcome to attend the services and the meal.

Pastor Hector Hoppe was born in Argentina. His Father was a Lutheran pastor serving mainly German immigrants. He received his degrees from Concordia Seminary in Buenos Aires and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served as a parish pastor in several parishes in Argentina, as a professor in Buenos Aires, and as the president of the Association of Seminaries in South America. Currently he is a senior editor for the Multiethnic Department at Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis.

Pastor Hoppe and his family are members of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri, where among other ministries he leads adult Bible studies. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Orphan Grain Train, Missouri-Illinois Division. Come and join us to learn more about the Orphan Grain Train mission work. It will be a day of information, food, and fellowship. St. Paul's church is located on the South edge of Strasburg along Route 32.
