The Stewardson Trinity Lutheran Cardinal volleyball team opened their fall season playing at Springfield on Saturday, going 2-0.

Trinity crushed Bethel Morton, 25-10, 25-1, then beat Trinity Bloomington, 25-17, 25-11, out-scoring their opponents 100 to 39.

The Cardinals served 36 aces, 36 kills,  and a block for 73 attack points out of 100 (73%). Brenna Musson and Marisa Daniels led at the service line with 15 points and 7 aces, each.

Gabby Vonderheide and Halle Moomaw led the net attack with 13 and 11 kills, each. Vonderheide added 6 aces for 19 attack points. Moomaw had 4 aces and a block for 16 attack points. Musson added 2 kills for 9 attack points.

Ella Kinkelaar dished 22 assists and Alaira Friese 11. Trinity had 35 assists for 36 kills,  97% out of the offensive set.

Kinkelaar also served 4 aces and hit 4 kills for 8 attack points. She had part in 28 kills, 30 attack points. Friese added 5 aces and 5 kills for 10 attack points. She had part in 16 kills and 21 attack points. 

One stat Trinity was short on was digs. They didn't need many, only 12 digs. Kinkelaar and Kinley Quast led the court defense with 3 digs each.

Trinity is coached by head coach Tammy Manhart, and assistants Bridgette Friese and Katie Durbin.
