The Windsor city council approved the payment of two bills for computer software support following a discussion of the need for the support.

Windsor city clerk Linda Voris presented bills for $1,395 from United Systems and $1,200 from Sensus Metering System. She added that city Water and Sewer superintendent Rich Reynolds will be talking to the sales representative for Sensus about extending the current support agreement during the installation time so that regular support would not be needed right away.

United Systems is a water billing program that has been upgraded to accept the information from the Sensus touch-read meter system. The new meter system has recently been installed in the city.

Voris added that employees have received training on both systems.

In other business the council commended city workers on the snow removal from the weekend’s storm. They also approved a request by Cerk’s Place to remain open until 1 a.m. New Year’s Eve.

It was also announced that Santa Claus will be visiting the Windsor City Hall from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 22.
