It was a shootout early, but A&M unleashed an area season-high 3-point barrage that turned St. Elmo into Baghdad, 70-54.

Central A&M launched a sortie of a dozen 3-pointers from seven different missile launchers for 36 of their 70 points. The Raiders also made 8-of-9 free throws (89%).

It was a 40-point 1st period, dead even. St. Elmo had a hitch in their giddy-up in the 2nd and A&M went on an 18-13 run for a 5-point lead at the break, 38-33. That dynamic deepened in the 3rd with an A&M 18-5 run for an 18-point lead, 56-38. With fate set, A&M just mirrored the St. Elmo effort in the 4th to secure the 16-point win.

The Raiders used balanced stair-step scoring from 13 to seven points from six players. Garner led with 13 (3-3s), Bagley had 12 (4-3s), Bray 11 (3-3s), Stedman 10 (6/6 FTs), Miller nine (1-3, 2/2 FTs), and Ohl seven (1-3).

St. Elmo also had balanced stair-step scoring, just not as deep. Hardimon had 12 points. Feezel had 11 points (3/3 FTs), Maxey had 10 (2-3s), and Oberlink had eight.
