The Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets had just hammered St. Elmo in regular season play. On Monday, WSS (#1) picked up the hammer again in the NTC conference tourney. This time they beat St. Elmo in 5 innings, just 10-0.

In the Eagle 2nd, the other Eagle single was eliminated by a double play. Right fielder Maddy Pfeiffer caught a fly ball and threw to Katrina Davis at 1st to double off the runner. Schlechte rang up the next batter.

WSS went in order, including a line-out caught by shortstop Emma Gathe. St E had a player reach on an error in the 3rd, but a ground out and two Schlechte strikeouts ended that inning.

In the WSS 3rd, Schlechte blasted a 1-out triple. Tabbert reached on an infield error and Schlechte scored, 3-0. Tabbert got to 2nd, then Bean singled her home, 4-0. Ava Bennett walked, but was stranded. St. E went in order in the 4th on two ground outs and a K.

The Hatchets swung away in the 4th. Davis led off with a double and Cole walked. Hannah Hayes launched a 2-run triple, 6-0. After a line-out, Tabbert singled and Hayes scored, 7-0.
