Windsor/Stew-Stras (10-7, 7-1 NTC) is back in the black and, on Tuesday, they drew blood. The Hatchets sliced and diced the St. Anthony Bulldogs, 25-14, 25-18.

“I feel like we are finally clicking,” said WSS coach Ronda Schlechte. “We are getting consistent with all skills and we are playing as a team. Hopefully, we can Keep our heads on at the Shelby/Pana Tourney this weekend.”

The Hatchets made quick work of St. Anthony on Tuesday winning by 11 points and 7 points in straights sets. They out-scored St. Anthony 50 to 22

WSS scored 30 attack points out of 50 (60%). They swung for 24 kills, 2 blocks, and 4 aces.

Mackinzee Reynolds led the attack with an ace and 8 kills, plus a block assist for 9.5 attack points. Claire Moomaw followed with 5 kills and a block assist.

Lexi Domzalski led the offense with 11 of the 22 assists towards 24 kills. WSS scored 91% of their kills out pf the offensive set. Hannah Hayes was all-around player with an ace, 3 kills, 5 assists, 4 digs.

Key to the win was the court defense. WSS got down for 33 digs, led by libero Anna Schlechte with 11 digs. Reynolds scooped 6 digs.

WSS varsity (10-7, 7-1 NTC) plays next at the Shelby/Pana Invite on Saturday, then the varsity and JV (11-4, 7-1 NTC) will host Arcola on Monday, October 14. The WSS fresh-soph (6-12) will join the varsity and JV playing at Sullivan on Tuesday.

WSS JV got wrapped up in a 3-set win against St. Anthony, pulling out a 2-point win, 25-13, 16-25, 25-23.

They had 31 kills, 11 aces, 2 blocks for 44 attack points out of 66 (66.6%). Four Hatchets had between 9.5 and 7 attack points. Natalie Hayes led at the net wit 8 kills and a block assist and an ace for 9.5 attack points.

Mariah Hoene hit 7 kills with 11 digs. Rachel Kessler had 7.5 attack points with 2 aces, 5 kills, and a block assist. Taylor Dasenbrock smacked 6 kills with the only solo blokc for 7 attack points.

Adi McCray scooped 17 digs to lead the defense with 2 aces. Makenna Tabor led the offense with 13 assists, while Amber Goen dished 7. Goen led at the serve line with 5 aces.
