Jordan Smith (Shelbyville) holds 5 Millikin receiving records and is a 3-time CCIW 1st Team pick.

When a Shelbyville wide receiver showed up at Millikin College, he wasn’t just another player named Smith. It was Jordan Smith, a future school record holder.

Smith, a 3-time CCIW All-Conference 1st Team selection, set a school record for receiving yards in a season (1044 yds). Then he broke his own school record with 1,053 yards the next season. Smith holds the Millikin record for the most receiving touchdowns in a season with 17 TD’s.

Smith is Millikin’s all-time career leading receiver with 3,353 yards and 182 receptions. He holds the school record for career receiving touchdowns with 48.

Smith had 13, almost 17, 100-yd games in his 4-year career. He had three 200-yard games, ten 100-yard games, and four more game with 95 or more yards.

As a freshman at Big Blue (2016), Smith caught 20 passes for 438 yards and 7 touchdowns. His season-high for TD’s in a game was 2 against Augustana.

His longest catch was 67 yards. He had a season-high 86 receiving yards against Carroll University. He returned 7 punts for 39 yards. His longest return was 14 yards.

As a sophomore, Smith caught 43 passes for 818 yards and 13 TD’s, doubling his freshman output. His season-high TD’s in a game was 3 against Carroll.

Smith was named CCIW Conference Player of the Week in September. He helped lead the Big Blue to a, 27-21, win over Hope in the season opener. He caught six passes for 216 yards and one touchdown catch of 38 yards.

He also had a 76-yard play that put the ball on the Hope two-yard line, setting up a Millikin score. Smith’s 49-yard reception set up his 38-yard touchdown play.
