Okaw Valley volleyball opened the area volleyball season at home on Tuesday, knocking out Neoga in 2, 25-17, 25-18.

Okaw doubled-up the Indians, out-scoring them 50 to 25 in the quick 2-set match. They 20 kills, scored 10 aces, and stuffed 3 blocks for 33 attack points out of 50 total (66%). The defense tallied 37 digs.

Kate Jeffers led at the net, while specialists April Decesaro and Grace Bunfill were on their games.

Jeffers hit a team-high 9 kills with 1 block for 10 net points. She added 4 aces to score 14 attack points. Paige Coleman followed with 4 kills, 1 block, and 2 aces for 7 attack points. She was also 2nd in defense with 7 digs.

Bunfill dished 19 of 20 assists and added 2 kills, and 3 aces. She scored 5 points and was part of 24 points with her assists. Libero April Decesaro scooped 19 of the 37 digs (51.3%).

Okaw Valley will host Sullivan on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and at LSA on Thursday, 7 p.m.
