Okaw Valley has had the most successful 1A season in the Shelby Area and rivals 2A Shelbyville in records and stats. Okaw Valley was the first team to get 20 wins this season (20-9). On Thursday, they beat Cumberland,  25-13, 25-18.

Paige Coleman was all over the Pirates in this match. The second hitter for the T'Wolves was #1 on Thursday. Coleman hit a season-high 14 kills with one block and 2 aces for a season-high 17 attack points. Coleman also led the defense with 14 digs for a double-double.

Okaw Valley swung for 24 kills, blocked 4 shots and served 5 aces for 33 attack points out of 50 (66%). Coleman and Kate Jeffers had 2 aces each. Avery Bruns led in blocks with 2.

Grace Bunfill dished 21 of the 24 assists for 24 kills (100% offensive efficiency).

Defense helped with an impressive 53 digs. Coleman had 14 and April Decesaro scooped 11, while Macie Fleshner got down for 9 digs.

Okaw Valley (20-9) plays host to Meridian on Monday.
