The Okaw Valley girls basketball team has had a hard row to hoe this season. They finished the regular season 11-19, but even in LPC play (4-4). They finished the regular season with a blowout win over LSA on Friday, 51-22.

The 1st quarter was a rout as the Timbrwolves went on a 14-4 wilding. Mia Harris sank a triply of twos. Miaya Lehman made a bucket and 1-of-2 free throws. Kate Jeffers scored and Avery Bruns scored. Lexi Bartimus got started on her season-high with 1-of-2 free throws.

Ava Brown and Julia Mize had solo baskets for LSA as they fell behind by 10 points.

In the 2nd it was more of the same as Okaw posted a 12-4 ruin. Harris scored two more times and Bartimus made two baskets. Reagan Reedy and Jeffers added solo twos. Anna Lovekamp had all four LSA points in the 2nd. She made 1-of-2 foul shots and a triple to trail by 18 points at the break, 26-8.

The 3rd quarter was the coup de gras. Okaw launched a 17-7 run to codify the win. Harris made a deuce and a trey. Jeffers scored twice and made 1-of-3 free throws. Bartimus also sank a deuce and a trey. Bailey Bennett scored.

Abby Phillips scored 5 of the 7 LSA points. She scored twice for LSA and made 1-of-2 foul shots. Brown had the other deuce, as they trailed by 28 points, 43-15.

In the 4th, Okaw still had the edge, but wound things down, 8-7. Jeffers made a deuce, then finished her senior regular season with a 3-pointer. Bartimus went 2-of-2 at the line late and Evelyn Ashley made 1-of-2.

For LSA, Mize finished her day with a 3. Kealey Keane made a two and Lovekamp had one more two.

Okaw Valley made 21 shots from the floor with 3 treys for 45 points. LSA made 9 buckets with 2 treys for 20 points. Okaw was 6-of-13 at the line and LSA was 2-of-4.

Okaw had three players in double figures. Mia Harris led with 15 points on 7 buckets (1-3). Jeffers finished with 14 points on 6 scores (1-3) and a free throw. Lexi Bartimus had a season-high 12 points. She had three 2s and a triple, plus 3-of-4 at the line.

Okaw Valley (11-19) the Arthur 1A Regional 7th seed was to play Monday night against the #9 seed Meridian at 6 p.m.

Okaw beat Meridian by 10 early in the season and by 8 in December. If they win, they play on Tuesday against top seeded Central A&M at 6 p.m.
