Tyler Pasley has been pick 'em up and putting 'em down at UIS for three years. He is still performing as an all-conference Prairie Star.
Most recently Pasley competed in the 2020 Indoor track season.
At the GLVC Indoor Championships, Tyler Pasley led the men's team, earning a medal in both the 3,000m and 5,000m with third-place finishes. He had a NCAA provisional time of 14:45.09 in the 5,000m, and a mark of 8:37.91 in the 3,000m.
At the Hilltop Classic at Illinois College, Pasley won the men's 3,000m. The Prairie Stars had five competitors finish in the top-five. Tyler Pasley won the event with a time of 8:36.99.
At the Pittsburg State meet, Pasley had a mark of 14:56.41 in the 5,000m and finished 7th in the men's race. In the Tom, Hathaway Distance meet Pasley also had a strong finish coming in third. He started the season at U-Indy, coming in fourth in the mile, in 4:27.98.
In cross country last fall, Tyler Pasley won his second straight UIS Invitational title. He finished with a 7,000m time of 22:25.30.
At the Michigan Spartan Classic, Pasley was 62nd. At the Loyola lakefront he was 76th. At the Lewis Crossover, Pasley was 58th with a time of 26:24. At the GLVC Championships, Pasley was 7th with a time of 25:35.36, to make all-conference.
At the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, Tyler Pasley was 22nd with a mark of 32:19, to be earn Top 25 Regional Honors.
Pasley became an all-conference performer in cross country after finishing fifth at the GLVC meet in 2018. He has scored in the outdoor 10,000m in two seasons, finishing sixth in 2018 and third in 2019.
He also scored once in the indoor 3,000m and indoor distance medley relay. Pasley placed 6th as a freshman in the 10,00 meter run 33:50.40.
In UIS cross country in 2018, Pasley was an all-GLVC performer, 5th at the conference meet, which was the first top-five finish for a UIS cross country runner.
He was named GLVC Runner of the Week after the UIS Invitational, and was the first UIS men’s runner to win that award.
He competed in six events. He scored for the team in all six events, and led the team in three competitions. Pasley won the UIS Invitational and finished 87th at the NCAA regional meet.
In 2017, Pasley ran in seven events. He won his first collegiate race at the Orion Twilight Mini-Meet. He had a top-five finish at the UIS Invitational. He finished 36th at the GLVC Championships and 81st at the NCAA Midwest Regionals.
In UIS indoor track in 2019, Pasley competed in five events. At the GLVC Championships, he finished 9th in the 5,000m and 12th in the 3,000m. He had two runner-up finishes in the 3,000m at the Tom Hathaway Distance Classic and the 800m at the Jim Green invitational.
In 2018, Pasley ran in five meets. He helped UIS score in two events at the GLVC Championships. He finished 7th in the 3,000m, and was a member of the 5th-place distance medley relay team. He was also a member of the winning distance medley relay team at the Lewis Invitational and finished 7th at the Tom Hathaway Distance Classic.
In UIS outdoor track in 2019, Pasley ran in four events. He finished 3rd at the GLVC Championships in the 10,000m to be all-conference. He had top-10 finishes in every race that he ran, including second in the 5,000m at the Bellarmine Classic and fourth in the 1,500m at the Big Blue Alumni Invitational.
In 2018, Pasley competed in six meets. He scored at the GLVC Championships by coming in 6th at the 10,000m. He had four top-10 overall finishes, with a season-high fourth in the 5,000m at the Emporia State Spring Invitational.

Pasley ran cross country and track for Shelbyville coach Kevin Kramer throughout high school.
Pasley competed on the varsity level in cross country and track and field for Shelbyville High School for four years. As a freshman, Pasley ran to a 3-mile time of 16 minutes, 43 seconds in the IHSA 1A Sectional.
As a team, Shelbyville followed up a 1st-place finish in regionals and a 3rd-place finish in sectionals by capturing 4th in the state meet.
During track and field, Pasley placed 2nd in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.16 in the 1A Sectional to qualify for state. Shelbyville’s 4x800 relay won sectionals and contributed to Shelbyville’s 2nd-place team finish in sectionals. The Rams clocked a time of 8:03.94 in the 4x800 to finish 4th in the Class A State Finals.
As a sophomore, Pasley placed third in the Central Illinois Conference (CIC) cross country meet and secured fifth in the IHSA 1A Regional. In the state meet, Pasley earned 44th with a 3-mile time of 15:56. After taking first in regionals and second in sectionals, Shelbyville finished sixth in the state meet.
Shelbyville took home the 2015 IHSA 1A Sectional crown in track and field. Pasley put together a 3,200 time of 9:53.08 to place third and qualify for state.
During his junior season, Pasley claimed 2nd in the CIC cross country meet and 3rd at regional. Pasley had a 3-mile time of 15:40 to take 30th at State. That year Shelby won their 3rd consecutive regional and was 2nd place in sectionals. Shelby placed 2nd in the state meet.
Pasley was 2nd in the 2016 CIC track and field meet in the 800 and 3,200. The Rams were 1st in the 4x800 in the sectional and won the sectional title. In the state meet, the Rams were again 2nd in the 4x800.
As a senior, Palsey claimed the CIC cross country title. Pasley was 2nd at regional and 3rd at sectionals. At State Pasley ran 15:19 for 10th in Class A State.
During track and field season, Pasley claimed 2nd in the 1,600 and 3,200 at sectional. Pasley finished 4th (9:33.96) in the 3,200 and 8th (4:20.05) in the 1,600 his senior year at the State Track Meet.
He was named an Illinois State Scholar and selected to the IHSA All-State Academic First Team. Pasley is pursuing a major in Chemistry. He is the son of Joe and Kelli Jo Pasley.
