The Central A&M Raiders are blitzing their way through the CIC tourney. On Saturday, the Raiders routed the Sullivan Redskins, 66-31.
Even without points from one of the big 3, Griffin Andricks, the Raiders ran through the 'Skins like berries through a goose. The consistent Raiders scored 19 points in each of the first 3 quarters.
They posted a 19-5 run to start the bloodbath. Up by 14 in a hurry, they followed with a 19-13 run holding off Sullivan's best effort of the game and led by 20 points at the half, 38-18.
The 3rd period was more of the same with an A&M 19-11 run. They led by 28 points as the fat lady sang to start the 4th, 57-29. The ;Skins were bowed and bloodied and only mustered 2 points in the final 8:00. A&M coasted with 9 points down the stretch for the 35-point blowout.
Connor Heaton led the way with 24 points for A&M. He scored 8 times from the floor with two triples. He also got to the line and shot a perfect 6-of-6. Jacob Paradee followed with 14 points. He scored 4 times with one 3. He was 5-of-8 at the line. Connor Hutchins was almost the third Raider in double figures, scoring 9 points.
Caden Ellis led Sullivan with 18 points with two 3s. However, frequent flyer miles to the stripe paid off for the Raiders, boosting their margin of victory.
A&M has a showdown with Tuscola on Tuesday in the CIC Tourney.
