After a loss in the Pana Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday, the Central A&M Raiders squeezed a win past the Williamsville Bullets on Saturday, 54-52.

The raiders are still without the senior post player Channing Reed, who was injured in volleyball. This testing could make them stronger later in the season.

Despite being down a man, they beat the Bullets on the strength of a 2nd period edge. The all-but equal opponents matched their efforts in the 1st period, 12-12.

Emma Beck opened up her game with back-to-back 3s. McKenna Denton scored twice and Hannah Schinzler scored. Williamsville got a deuce and a trey from Henrickson. Phillips scored twice and Watson had a 3-point play.

Henrickson made two treys, Woods and Watson had solo twos. Roberts made two foul shots. Bartlett made two foul shots. Rapp made two foul shots, but the Bullets were down by 5 at the half, 33-28.

The 3rd period was another almost even-steven. This time Wuilliamsville had a 1-point edge in the period, 12-11. Roberts caught fire with two buckets then a 3-point play. Henrickson canned another triple. Phillips and Watson each split two free throws.

On the raider side Mikayla Denton mae a trey and a deuce. Schinzler stroked a three and McKenna Denton made 1-of-2 foul shots, then a deuce. A&M was still up 4, 44-40.

The Bullets tried to pick off the Raiders in the 4th, but couldn’t pull the trigger. Williamsville won the quarter by a bucket, 12-10. Henrickson was on fire, making her 5th and 6th triple and finishing with a two for another 8 points. Murphy and Bartlett added solo twos, but came just short.

The Raiders scored just enough to leave the bullets with an empty chamber. A&M missed 5-of-9 foul shots in crunch time and still walked away with a win.

Mikayla Denton made two buckets and 1-of-3 foul shots. McKenna Denton had a two and 1-of-2 foul shots. Schinzler got to the line twice and made 2-of-4 shots. They won by two, 54-52.
