Shelbyville put on a double whammy on South Fork Kincaid on Monday night. The Rams ran past the Ponies, 60-27.

The cousin curse was too much for Kincaid. Sophomore Trinity Wade put up a 23 points on the Ponies and her freshman cousin, Mia Wade, slapped 22 points on them.

The youth movement in Shelbyville accounted for 53 of their 60 points. The Tidal Wade scored 45 of the 60. Freshman Abigail Kaiser added 6 more and freshman Macy Owens the other two underclassmen points.

Kincaid was led by Burney in double figures (10 points) followed by Peacock with 5.

The Rams ran out to an 18-1 lead in the first quarter. The cousin cruise left port on the opening tip and they didn’t stop til the buzzer. Mia Wade scored five times and Trinity Wade scored four. Peacock made 1-of-2 foul shots and Kincaid didn’t score from the floor.

The Ram roll slowed in the 2nd. They went on just a 15-5 run. Mia Wade made 1-of-2 foul shots, then a sank a deuce and stroked a trey. Trinity Wade buried a trey and made a deuce. Kaiser scored twice.

Peacock scored twice for Kincaid and Burney made 1-of-2 foul shots as the Ponies fell behind by 27 at the half, 33-6.

The avalanche of Ram points only increased in the 3rd period with a 24-11 run. T Wade made a pair of twos and then a pair of 3s completing a trey hat trick and scoring 10 points in the period. Mi Wade had a two, then a 3-point play. She also split a pair at the line for 6 points.

Carson Beyers and Hannah Hicks had solo twos, Holly Metzger made both of her free throws and Kaiser made of of her foul shots.

Kincaid enjoyed double-digit offense. Burney had a deuce, two free throws and a trey. Pop made a bucket and two free throws. Harmon made 1-of-2 free throws and then a deuce. Summers added a two, but Kincaid was now down by 35 points going to the 4th, 57-22.

The 4th period was an epitaph. Only 7 points were scored as the South Fork buss warmed up. Macy Owens made two Ram free throws and Sadie Gardner 1-of-2. Kincaid won the 4th quarter, 5-3. Burney scored, Drnjovic made 2-of-3 fouls shots and Pop 1-of-2.

Both teams were about the same at the line, 10-of-18 and 10-of-19. Shelby had more 3-pointers (4 to 1). The abundance of Ram buckets was overwhelming, 23 to 8.
