The Shelbyville boys track team won the annual "friendly" meet against St. Anthony at home on Tuesday and the Shelby girls nipped Tuscola, as well as St Anthony.

Shelby boys beat the Bulldogs 81 to 54. Shelby girls edged Tuscola 64 to 63 and bested St. Anthony (44 pts). 

Tuscola girls won 7 events and Shelby 6. St. Anthony won 4 events, 3 of the 4 relays. Shelby got 25 of their points from the field events. They won two, took second in 3 events and 3rd in 3 events. Their 3 track wins got them another 15 points. Four seconds in track events was another 12 points. That got them separation from St. Anthony. Two fourths and a third, allowed them to squeak past Tuscola by a point.

Gabby Spain won the pole vault (10-6) and the 800 (2;24.52). Carson Beyers was 2nd in the pole vault (9-6). Olivia Durbin won the shot (31-5) and was 2nd in the disc (99-0), followed by Jersey Binnion in 3rd in both events, adding 4 points. Makenna Durbin was 2nd in the 100 (14.52), 3rd in the 200 (30.62) and 3rd in the long jump (12-2) to add 7 needed points.  

Alexia Burnett won the 100 (14.51) one one-hundredth ahead of Durbin and Elizabeth Bowyer won the quarter (1:09.97). The Ram 4x100 team had the only relay win, but they got 2nd in the 4x2 and the 4x4 for a total of 11 relay points.

Trinity Wade had a 2nd in the 300 hurdles (54.2) and a 3rd in the 100 hurdles (18.6) for 5 points to the total. Rachel Throneburg's 4th in the 800 (2:41.47) and Ella Tynan's 4th in the 200 (30.68), tipped the scales in Shelby's favor in the 1-point win.

For the boys, St. Anthony won 3 of the 4 relays. Shelby made up for it in the hurdles. The 110 was almost a wash. Elder won for St. Anthony, but Ram Dalton Hoadley was 2nd and Ethan Rice 3rd for Shelby to give St A 5 points and Shelby 4. In the 300 hurdles, Shelby swept all 3 spots and all 9 points. Garrett Wade was 1st (47.63), Rice 2nd (48.25) and Breyton Beck 3rd (49.62), advantage Rams.

St. Anthony had an advantage in the distances, out-scoring the Rams, 21 to 5. They won the 800, but again only by a point. Shelby's Luke Brown (2:27.43)and Cody Rohdemann (2:39.99) were 2nd and 3rd for 4 points to St. A's 5 for the win. St. Anthony did sweep the 2-mile (8 pts) and got 1st and 2nd in the the mile for 8 points. Shelby got one point in the mile.

The 400 went to St A with the win, but Jamie Friedman (57.62) and Trenton Minnis (57.92) were 2nd and 3rd for 4 of the 9 points scored. 

The sprints went to Shelby. Carson Lockart won the 100 and 200 for 10 points. Shelby had 5 of the 6 places in the sprints, out-scoring St. Anthony, 15 to 3. Shelby swept the 200. Carson Lockart was 1st (25.14), Braydon Smith was 2nd (25.34), and James Mills 3rd (25.59), with less than a second between them. In the 100, Lockart was 1st (12.22) and Mills 3rd (12.53) with a Bulldog in 2nd. 

Shelby won 5 of the 6 field events. out-scoring St. A, 42 to 11. Max Beyers (10-6) and Karson Johnson (10-0) swept the pole vault (8 pts). Shelby swept all 9 points of the high jump. Minnis was 1st (5-8), Colton Miller was 2nd (5-4), and Breyton Beck was 3rd (5-2). Harrison Wooters  (40-11) and Grant Mose (39-1) took 1st and 2nd in the shot put (8 of 9 pts). 

Minnis (17-1) and Miller (15-11.5) were 1, 2 in the long jump. Then Miller (36-11) and Minnis (33-9) were 1, 2 in the triple jump for another 16 points out of 18. The duo of Minnis and Miller scored 24 of Shelby's 81 points in 3 field events. Shelby out-scored St A in those 3 events, 25 to 2. Minnis was the high points man for the meet, scoring 14 individual points.
