Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City softball wins were few a far between this season. All that came to an end on Monday at the St. Anthony Class A Regional on Monday. Ramsey eliminated CHBC, 9-1.
Ramsey is the sub-sectional #9 seed and CHBC was the #10 seed playing at the St. Anthony Regional.
Madison Cherry threw for the Bobcats and Ramsey put together a 3-run rally in the 1st and a 2-run rally in the 2nd to put CHBC behind the 8-ball, 5-0.
After a scorless 3rd, CHBC scrapped together a run in the 4th. Sydney Dunaway reached on an error. Lauren Wojcik drove her across the plate to make it 5-1.
Ramsey didn't respond immediately. In the 5th, the Rams mounted another 3-run rally to put the game out of reach, 8-1. They drove the final nail in the coffin with a run in the 6th. Down 9-1, the Bobcats headed for summer break early.
With the win, Ramsey now plays the sub-sectional #2 seed, the the top seed in the regional, host St. Anthony, on Tuesday.
