Shelbyville golf had a banner day on Tuesday at the National. Shelby boasted two medalists and a sweep of Okaw Valley and St. Anthony. Shelby had a team score of 190, St. Anthony shot 203, and Okaw Valley shot 223.
"The National at Eagle Creek is always a tough course," said Ram coach Russ Tomblin. "The boys shot very well overall. It helps you win when the co-medalists are both from our team."
Jon Eloe and Garrett Manship both carded 43s. That pushed the Rams over the top for the win. St. Anthony's top two golfers shot 44 and 49. Okaw Valley's best score was Sean Still, who shot 48 on the narrow tree-lined course.
Travis Lee and Caleb Eloe rounded out the Ram scorers with a 50 and a 54, respectively.
Manship had three pars and a birdie on a par 5 en route to his 43. Jon Eloe had four pars to card his 43. Lee had a birdie on the same par 5.
