Shelbyville Moulton 7th grade volleyball ran their record to a perfect 9-0 on Saturday after beating Mt. Zion on Friday, 25-18, 25-12, and Warrensburg on Saturday, 25-21, 25-17.
The Rams had similar experiences in both matches, building their their leads towards a win as the matches went on. Against Mt. Zion they out-scored their opponents 50-30, winning by 7 points in the first set, then winning by 13 points in the 2nd set.
Shelby served 11 aces, hit 12 kills and added a block for 24 attack points out of 50 (48%).
"We started out slow this match," said Ram coach Maggie Bosgraaf. "We did a nice job defensively and had some girls step up at the service line."
Primarily, it was Addalynn Miller who came upo the biggest. Miller served a season-high 19 points with 4 aces in the 2-set match. Ella Storm served 9 with an ace and Caroline White 8 points with 2 aces. Delaney Keown had 6 points with 3 aces (50%).
White and Amber Lewis led at the net with 3 kills, each. White's 2 aces gave her a team-high 5 attack points. Emily Duckett had an ace, a kill, and a block for 3 attack points. Addy Miller's 4 attack points and Delaney Keown's 3 attack points came from service aces.

On Saturday, Warrensburg came within 4 points of Shelby in the first set, but faded to an 8-point loss in the 2nd set. Shelby out-scored W-L by just 12 points. Shelby served 13 aces, hit 8 kills, and rose for 4 blocks for 25 attack points out of 50 (50%). They scooped 19 digs.
"Again, we started out slow and struggled with communication," said Ram coach Maggie Bosgraaf. "Luckily, a few girls were able to go on a service run and score some points for us. Next week will be a big week for us and we need to show up ready to play our game."
The Ram servers really stepped up as a team. Musser and Lewis served 10 points, each. Musser led the team with 5 aces. Duckett had 9 points and 3 aces.. Addalynn Miller serve 8 points with 2 aces. White served 7 points with an ace and Keown served 6 aces and an ace.
Musser led the team with 7 attack points, 5 aces, 2 kills. Duckett had 5 attack points with 3 aces, a kill and a block. Lewis had 4 attack points, 1 ace, 2 kills, and a block. Dru Clark had a kill and a team-high 2 blocks for 3 attack points. White had 3 attack points with an ace and 2 kills.
Three hitters had balanced scoring. Musser, White and Lewis had two kills, each. White led the defense with 6 digs.
