Shelbyville Lady Rams rock n’ rolled yesterday in Neoga as ace Chelsey Sullivan threw a one-hit shut-out, striking out 15 batters and then leading her team at the plate, going 3-for-3 and driving in six of the seven Ram runs.

“You could tell it had been awhile since we’ve had a game,” said Lady Ram coach Lisa Peifer. “We found ourselves in a few tight spots, but Chelsey pitched her way out of them. We did hit the ball well and their defense made some nice plays to hold down our run count. We still have things to work on, but it was a good win.”

Shelby got out to a 2-0 lead early and then had rallies in the fourth and sixth innings to ring up the seven-run total. The Rams racked up eleven hits, including three doubles by Sullivan and one by Ashtyn Wilcox.

Erica Shadwell and Sarah Hoene had multiple hits, as Shadwell went 3-for-5 and Hoene went 2-for-3.

Shelbyville (3-0) hosts Lovington on Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m.
