The Lady Timberwolves put a difficult season to bed last night, after being rocked by Arthur-Lovington last night at the IHSA Class A Macon Regional, 59-22.

Okaw Valley’s gutsy rebuilding season had its share of injuries and blowouts, mixed in with a few wins to keep hopes alive. But, last night the Lancers pulled the plug on this season with a dominating blow in the second period.

The Timberwolves stayed with the much improved Arthur-Lovington squad and their post all-star, Elise Wildman, through the first period, trailing just 8-4. But, the Okaw slow start became chronic as Arthur went on a 19-8 run to post a 15-point lead at the break.

Things went from bad to worse in the third, as the Lancers were on a roll and Okaw got rolled on a 17-3 blitz. After being lanced for two of three quarters, the T’Wolves could not stop the bleeding and crawled to the safety of the final buzzer as Arthur finished them off with another big run, 15-7.

Brittnay Herzog led the T’Wolves with nine of the 22 points and Sam Inman managed to score five, three from the line.

Arthur’s angular post master, Wildman, was the leading scorer with 23 points and even stepped out for one of Arthur’s two three-point baskets.
