Windsor/Stew-Stras baseball (6-10), which had almost as many rain-outs as they did game this year, started and ended their postseason play on Monday. They bowed to Neoga in a reversal of fortunes at the St. Anthony Regional, 4-1.

Neoga had just played Neoga three days earlier and won, 6-2. With a revolving door on the mound, Neoga used 5 pitchers and WSS two. WSS had 6 hits and Neoga just 3. The hit-total would be reversed on Monday.

Neoga scored early for the lead in both games. But in the first meeting WSS was able to storm back with 6 unanswered runs. They didn't on Monday. Trent Moore did not pitch for Neoga in the first meeting, neither did WSS' Logan Greuel.

On Monday, Neoga held the upper hand the whole game and the Hatchets scored late, saving face if not the season.

Logan Greuel was the best bet for WSS on the mound. He still gave up 4 runs on 6 hits (1 double), walking two and hitting one, while striking out just 4. he threw first pitch strikes to 18 of 32 batters, just over half. He threw 97 pitches, 63 strikes and 34 balls (65%).

Trent Moore got the win for Neoga. He threw a 3-hit, almost shutout. He walked two and KO'd 5. He threw 15 first pitch strikes out of 25 (60%). and just 54 strikes out of 89 (60.7%).

Three extra-hits and two fewer errors made the difference. A walk and a hit in the Neoga 3rd was compounded by a 2-out WSS error, allowing two runs to score.

A single and error and a single and an error in the Neoga 4th, allowed two more runs to score. Errors cost the Hatchets the game.

WSS went down in order in 5 of the first 6 innings. Sam Vonderheide singled with one out in the 2nd, but was stranded. Trey Sayers walked to lead off the WSS 3rd, but was doubled-up.

With two outs in the 6th, Colin Kinkelaar walked and Beau Bennett reached on an error sending Kinkelaar to 3rd. A pop up ended the chance.

In the 7th, still down 4-0, Gavan Wernsing led off and took the first pitch deep for a home run, 4-1. The next three Hatchets went down and the rain-shortened season, was also a short postseason.
