Windsor-Stew-Stras volleyball dumped Dieterich without much game play on Tuesday night. The lopsided affair ended, 25-14, 25-16.

The girls worked hard to clean up the missed serves and attacking errors from Thursday’s game,” said WSS coach Ronda Schlechte. “Everyone contributed to the stats tonight, which made for a pretty solid game. I still look to see much improvement in this team.”

The Hatchets out-scored Dieterich by 20 points, 50 to 30, averaging a double-digit win in each set.

They delivered 26 kills from just 20 assists (77%), blasting away on free balls and 1-timers. They added 3 blocks and served up 6 aces for 35 attack points out of 50 (70%).

After putting up 72 digs against Central A&M last week, the Hatchets only needed 29 to defend Dieterich.

The attack was balanced. Mackinzee Reynolds and middle hitter Claire Moomaw led with 6 kills each. Karlie Bean scored 5 and Hannah Hayes and Mackenzie Brown had 4 kills, each. Brown and Brianna Hewing stuffed 3 block assists, each.

Hayes had 10 of the 20 assists and an ace to give her part of 15 attack points. Lexi Domzalski had 7 assists this match, but led the team with 9 digs. Anna Schlechte followed with 7 and Jessica Rauch with 6.

WSS (2-0, 1-0 NTC) plays Cumberland on Thursday.
